Bhagavad Gita 2.15

There is a part of you that can stay steady even while life moves around you.

Bhagavad Gita · Chapter 2, Verse 15

yaṁ hi na vyathayanty ete puruṣaṁ puruṣarṣabha
sama-duḥkha-sukhaṁ dhīraṁ so 'mṛtatvāya kalpate

Translation

The steady person who is not shaken by these, who remains the same in pain and pleasure — such a person is fit for the deathless.

In simple words Interpretation

There is a part of you that can stay steady even while life moves around you.

Context

Continuing from 2.14, Krishna describes the 'dhira' — the steady one — whose calm isn't indifference but deep groundedness.

When this may help

When you feel knocked off balance by every change and want to find firmer ground.

Reflection question

Where in your life do you already feel a little steady, even now?

A small practice

Place your feet flat on the floor. Feel the ground hold you for three slow breaths.
